Trump and Melania Arrive in UK to Meet King and Queen: Historic $12 Billion US-UK Deal Expected

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania arrived in the UK on Tuesday night for a three-day visit, marking their second trip to Britain in six months. They will meet King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton at Windsor Castle today, followed by a state dinner in Trump’s honor.

The delegation includes business leaders like NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Over $10.5 billion (₹88,000 crore) in US-UK deals spanning technology, energy, and trade are expected during the visit.

Ahead of Trump’s arrival, Google announced a $6.8 billion UK investment, including a new AI-focused data center near London.

Trump to Meet British PM at Chequers

On Thursday, Trump will hold talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, the PM’s countryside residence. Discussions will cover investment, steel tariffs, the Ukraine war, and the Gaza crisis.

Reports indicate unprecedented security measures for the visit, surpassing even King Charles’s coronation protocols. Drone teams, snipers, and mounted police are deployed, partly in response to the recent murder of Trump supporter Charlie Kirk.

US and UK Foreign Ministers to Hold Talks

A spokesperson for PM Starmer called the visit “pivotal for global stability,” emphasizing discussions on shared challenges as bilateral ties enter “a new phase.” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also meet UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

Protests Erupt Against Trump’s Visit

The “Stop Trump Coalition” plans a “Trump Not Welcome” protest in London on September 17, accusing the former president of climate denial and ties to war criminals. A 250,000-signature petition demanded the visit’s cancellation, while Windsor Castle grounds displayed posters linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein.
